How PRoast connects to GitHub and reviews PRs

This page documents the actual product flow from sign-in to repository installation to automatic PR comments, so customers and partners can verify how PRoast is delivered.

AUTOMATED DELIVERY

No manual repo handoff

PRoast is delivered through GitHub OAuth plus a GitHub App installation. After purchase, the selected repository is unlocked automatically and continues using the same GitHub App connection.

The paid plan is a one-time purchase for one GitHub repository.

Price: $49 USD

What the buyer receives: lifetime access for one GitHub repository, with unlimited PRoast reviews for that repository.

FLOW

Sign in with GitHub

Start at PRoast with GitHub OAuth. We use your GitHub session to show repositories you can access.

Choose a repository

Pick the repository you want PRoast to watch. We save that repo to your account and open the GitHub App install flow for that repository.

Install the GitHub App

GitHub asks you to approve the PRoast app on the selected repository. Once installed, GitHub sends PRoast the installation event automatically.

Open or update a pull request

On new PRs and PR updates, GitHub sends a webhook to PRoast. We fetch the PR diff, title, description, and recent commit messages for that PR.

PRoast comments on the PR

PRoast generates an AI review, stores the result in your dashboard, and posts the roast directly as a GitHub PR comment.

ACCESS USED

GitHub sign-in to identify the user and list repositories they can access.
GitHub App installation on the repository the user selects.
Pull request title, description, diff, and recent commit messages for installed repositories.
Permission to post one automated review comment back to the pull request.

PURCHASE FLOW

Every repository starts with 3 free roasts. When a repository hits the free limit, the owner can upgrade that repository through Lemon Squeezy checkout.

After successful payment, PRoast redirects the buyer back to the dashboard and unlocks unlimited reviews for that same repository. There is no separate provisioning step.
